Hof Mamouna is a horse boarding yard at Lüllau in the Nordheide, roughly 30 km south of Hamburg between Buchholz and Jesteburg. Owner Birgit Christiansen runs the yard under the motto "where a horse may still be a horse", keeping the horses in conditions as close to natural as possible. The stable has held LAG five-star certification for horse husbandry since 2015. Boarding enquiries and visits are arranged directly by phone or email.

Jasperhof GmbH & Co.KG Pferdepension

Jasperhof Jerxheim is a modern active stable for horses and ponies at Jerxheim, between the Heeseberg and the Großes Bruch south of the Elm, built in 2021/22 by Antje Gritzan. Horses live in herd groups on a paddock-trail system rather than in conventional single boxes. The site has a 20x60 m outdoor arena, dressage and jumping arenas, a round pen and a salt chamber, with direct access to hacking. It runs a programme of dressage courses, TGT courses and theory seminars, and is currently adding a further gelding group.

Carlshof Jade

Carlshof Jade is a horse boarding farm in Jade on the Jade Bay, run by Kirsten Erwentraut. Husbandry is built around what the site calls the essentials of a healthy horse life: light, air, free movement and social contact with other horses. Horses live in generous boxes with attached paddocks and have daily turnout on species-rich grassland, with hay and feeding managed individually. A salt chamber (Solekammer) is available on site for respiratory and skin care, and much of the farm is kept as biodiverse pasture and near-natural woodland.

Gestüt Basselthof

Islandpferdegestüt Basselthof is an Icelandic horse stud near Hannover, run by the Grimm family since 1971 and led today by Marlise Grimm. Breeding is the heart of the operation and homebred youngstock is raised on the farm's own pastures. The yard also offers livery, backing and training (Beritt), and keeps a standing string of horses for sale. Riding herds share the grounds with rabbits, dogs and deer, giving the place a relaxed family character. A small shop and a calendar of yard events round out the offering.

More than 30 horses and ponies live on the yard in spacious paddock boxes, group turnout areas and outdoor boxes. Livery horses have summer pasture from April to October and winter turnout areas thereafter. Run by Frank and Stefanie Labbus with the Jacob family, it breeds Hanoverian horses and places particular weight on how the horses are kept. Alongside the breeding programme the yard raises foals and young stock and lets boxes to outside owners. Dressage schooling is offered on the premises, and visitors are welcome at the farm.

The stable is run as an Aktivstall, an active open-stable system with generous space, several feeding stations and constant herd contact, so horses live as naturally as possible. Alongside regular boarding the yard takes in rehabilitation horses with chronic respiratory disease, locomotor problems or behavioural issues, using the mild coastal climate as part of the recovery programme. A feeding and mucking-out service is included, and the surrounding countryside gives direct hacking from the yard. Summer grazing runs from early May to late October on around 60 hectares of permanent pasture, with horses grouped by age and sex and checked twice daily.
